About the Project
The inception report outlines the approach and initial activities for implementing the workstream Advancing Electric Cooking for Sustainable Energy Transitions in Sub-Saharan Africa. The initiative is led by Gamos East Africa as part of our roles within the MECS programme and the Global eCooking Coalition (GeCCo). The project aims to work closely with utilities and regulators to co-design and test innovative solutions that address key barriers to scaling eCooking adoption across multiple countries.
Objective of the Project
The primary objective of this projectt is to enable eCooking as a systemic demand driver for renewable energy utilization and grid optimization in partner countries. This includes:
Actions for the Project
The MECS programme, in collaboration with EnDev, carried out a similar set of activities in 2022, therefore enabling us to leverage the studies as a baseline and update to highlight the progress the eCooking sectors have made in each country.
Planning is underway for the co-creation session at the stakeholder workshop, together with the BAYES team. In addition, we intend to host virtual monthly meetings with the utilities and regulators to ensure we walk the journey together.
We plan to host two webinars with utilities, regulators, development partners, and the eCooking community. The first will be to disseminate the updated Market Assessment Studies.
