We are pleased to invite you to our monthly eCooking Community of Practice dialogue session on “Accelerating eCooking in Informal Settlements”. This virtual webinar scheduled for 31st January 2024 from 11 am (EAT) is co-organized by Gamos East Africa (GAMEA), Kenya Power (KPLC), Clean Cooking Association of Kenya (CCAK), and African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS), and supported by the Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS) Programme.
Accelerating eCooking in Urban Informal Settlements in Nairobi, Kenya is a study done under the eCooking Capacity Building & Market Development programme (eCAP) which was implemented by Kenya Power in Collaboration with the Modern Energy Cooking Services Programme (MECS) working under the United Kingdom Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions (UK PACT) programme to accelerate the uptake of electric cooking (eCooking) in Kenya, the work was also co-funded by Integrate 2 Zero.
During this session, our colleagues in the sector, Kevin Nayema from Nuvoni Centre for Innovation Research will take us through the study findings from the market scoping study on eCooking opportunities in informal urban settlements in Nairobi and how this will inform a market development intervention to promote access and usage of eCooking appliances to households and (food) businesses in Nairobi.
