About the event

The eCooking Community of Practice (CoP) is co-convened by Gamos East Africa, ACTS, Kenya Power, and CCAK supported by the Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS) programme. The CoP intends to foster the development of Kenya’s emerging eCooking sector by bringing together actors from the clean cooking and electricity access

sectors. This dialogue on “Financing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Initiatives in eCooking Sector” scheduled for August 13th, 2024 at 2:00 pm to 3:30pm (EAT), is part of an ongoing series of monthly dialogues.

During this dialogue, Ms. Esther Wanza a Senior Officer Renewable Energy professional and an Institutional Energy Expert alongside her colleague Ms. Noreen Wambani a Project Coordinator championing household clean cooking at Equity Group Foundation will be presenting about their initiatives to accelerate access to finance for clean cooking solutions at household, institutional, commercial and industrial level. They will also feature some of the entrepreneurs they are working with in the sector.  In this session we aim to:

                 • Discuss financing opportunities that LMEs could explore to help in accelerating adoption of eCooking in         rural and marginalised areas.

                 • To highlight successful examples of innovation and entrepreneurship in the eCooking sector, emphasizing    the role of financing in their growth.

                 • To identify the key barriers to financing eCooking initiatives and explore potential solutions to overcome these challenges.
